Project Manager Mergers & Acquisitions (m/f/d)

As a Project Manager Mergers & Acquisitions (m/f/d), your responsibilities include identifying and analyzing M&A opportunities, conducting due diligence, performing company valuations, and modeling financial data. Additionally, you will carry out market and competitive analysis to refine the company's strategy. You will provide support in structuring and negotiating transactions, as well as in preparing reports and presentations for management. Furthermore, you will regularly monitor M&A trends and competitive activities and maintain stakeholder relationships to optimize the transaction process.

What you will do:

  • Identification of M&A opportunities: You observe and analyse markets and sectors to identify potential target companies that are a strategic fit for the company's portfolio
  • Due Diligence: You manage and coordinate due diligence reviews, including the analysis of financial, legal, tax, and operational aspects of target companies
  • Evaluation and modeling: You carry out company valuations using common methods such as discounted cash flow (DCF), market comparison, and transaction multiples. You develop financial models to support transaction analysis
  • Market and competitive analysis: You analyse market trends and the competitive landscape to continuously review your own equity story and derive insights for improvement.
  • Negotiation and structuring of transactions: You support and negotiate in structuring transactions, including determining the purchase price structure, payment terms, and contractual agreements
  • Reporting and presentations: You prepare decision papers, presentations, and regular reports for management and the board
  • Market and competition analysis: You regularly analyse M&A trends in the sector and monitor competitive activities to identify strategic opportunities and risks early on
  • Stakeholder management: You maintain relationships with investors, advisors, banks, and other relevant stakeholders to make the transaction process effective and efficient

What you will bring:

  • University degree in economics, finance, business administration, law or equivalent
  • Experience in the M&A roles, e.g. investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, management consulting
  • Experience in executing M&A transactions, including due diligence, company valuation, contract negotiations and integration
  • Independent handling of larger analyses, project tasks and conceptual topics
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
